TWO RHYMING RIDDLES

1)
I come in a box with my brother,
We know not our father or mother;
Together we most useful are,
But useless when one is without the other.

2)
My head and tail both equal are,
My middle slender as can be;
Whether I stand on head or heel,
It matters not to me.
But if my head should be cut off,
The result is passing strange;
What's left of me
Is now to nothing changed.

Answers:
