CONFLICTING PROVERBS INITIAL TEST III

In each clue below the key words of two well-known proverbs have been replaced by their initial letters. The two proverbs seem to conflict in the advice they give. For example, given the clue pair

The P is M T the S
A S L than W,

the two proverbs would be

THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD
ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS - - -

which give apparently contradictory advice. The pairs below follow the same pattern. Ignorance is bliss, or knowledge is power - you decide.

1)
An E F an E
T the O C

2)
G T C in S P
The B the B

3)
Do U O as Y W H T D U Y
N G F L

4)
W W Be W Be
L is W Y M It

5)
C that B W Y C to I
F is F

6)
The R is to the S
S and S W the R

7)
T H are B than O
