ANAGRAMS IV

Some anagrams are exact reversals of the letters in the original word (PART - TRAP). Lewis Carroll called these words "semordnilaps" - a reversal of palindromes. I prefer to call them perfect anagrams. Some examples of perfect anagrams are:

EVIL --- LIVE
REVILED --- DELIVER
DESSERTS --- STRESSED
REWARD --- DRAWER
RECAPS --- SPACER
DIAPER --- REPAID
MINED --- DENIM
AJAR - RAJA
GALS - SLAG
DOOR - ROOD
OPRAH - HARPO
REVEL - LEVER
LEPER - REPEL
SLEEP - PEELS

The following three rhymes can be answered by using two perfect anagrams:

1)
Detractors say I'm too enthusiastic by far;
Turn me around and I'm an opera star.

2)
If I bore you by boasting and putting on airs,
Turn me around and I'm the clothes you wear.

3)
A river will do this, shallow or deep;
Turn it around and it likes to eat sheep.

The following verse contains five anagrams of a four-letter word. It has two sets of perfect anagrams:

4)
When we were young, we played with _ _ _ _ ,
Our favorite toys were pans and _ _ _ _ ;
We'd _ _ _ _ our work, and filled with glee,
Upon the _ _ _ _ at games we'd be.
The years have flown, and for the most,
It's now enough to check the _ _ _ _ .

Answers:

1. AVID / DIVA
2. BRAG / GARB
3. FLOW / WOLF
4. TOPS / POTS / STOP / SPOT / POST
