FOUR RHYMING RIDDLES
1)
I 'm a word of meanings two,
If you can guess me, good for you.
My first is to shrink - get smaller in size,
My second an agreement - binding in the law's eyes.
2)
My first is in act but not in play,
My second in April but not in May;
My third in noble and also lord,
My fourth in card but not in board.
My last is in stack but not in hay,
My whole you look at every day.
3)
I'm sold by the yard,
Worn by the foot;
From wall to wall
Is where I'm put.
4)
I hang between the earth and sky,
Green or brown as the seasons pass by;
All around me the birds do fly,
Until, just before winter, away go I.
