THREE RHYMING RIDDLES

1)
Four words there are, though there appear to be three,
Two ways of pronouncing, three spellings there be.
The first is like "therefore," or a measure of degree,
The second a pig - of the female variety.
The third on a farm is a way to plant seed,
The fourth to stitch, as torn clothes in need.

2)
Pointed up I mean success,
Pointed down I mean duress.

3)
A group of four I give you:
The first we sit atop just so,
The second can be friend or foe;
The third whispers in our ears,
The fourth washes away our tears.

Answers:
1. SO/SOW/SOW/SEW
2. Thumb
3. Earth, fire, wind, and water
