TWO RHYMING RIDDLES

1)
A certain thing lives in a place near at hand,
Whose nature is strange, if it be well scanned;
It sees without eyes, it flies without wings,
It runs without feet, it works wondrous things.
To places far distant it often will roam.
Yet never departs, but tarries at home;
If you covet to touch it, to feel or to see,
Your labor is lost, for it may not be.

2)
Gorgeous are its robes to view,
Bright with yellow, green, and blue;
Upon its head it wears a crown,
And proudly paces up and down.
Its splendid train it raise high,
And seeks its love with jealous cry;
But strange to say, his love to gain
Is brown and dull and very plain.
