The five clue words in each set below are derived from an answer word that's make up of at least eight letters, none of which are repeated. The letters of each clue word appear in the answer word in left-to-right order, though not necessarily consecutively.
For example, the letters in ERA can be found in the word MERCHANT, as can the letters in ANT, CHAT, MEAT, and RAN. Every letter of the answer word appears at least once in the clue words, and one clue word in each set appears in the answer word intact (ANT in the above example).
