THE LETTER EXCHANGE

Each set of words below represents a familiar phrase or expression, but some (not all) of the words have been tampered with. Each of the "tampered" words has had a single letter changed. For example, given the clue GUT THE DEAD NUT, the answer would be GET THE LEAD OUT.
