The letter U is the rarest of the five English vowels, occurring just one-quarter as often as the most frequent letter, E. This rarity makes it all the more surprising to find so many words containing two U's, separated by another letter. Listed below are all 26 U-letter-U trigrams (UAU, UBU, UCU, etc.). Can you place one or more letters before, after, or both before and after the U-letter-U trigrams to form common, uncapitalized words. At least 20 of the 26 combinations have answers.
