Each clue below has two parts. Answer each part and determine a single "link-letter" that will join the two parts into a single word. For example, if the clue words were CHOOSE and LYRIC POEM, you would answer with ELECT and ODE. The "link-letter" (for you to determine) would be R, creating the single word ELECTRODE. The "link-letters," reading downward, will spell a seven-letter word.
1. Sumter or Knox - Correct
2. Beanie - Metropolis
3. Penniless - "Act your _____!"
4. $1,000 - Not this or that
5. Piece of china - House of twigs
6. Period with a tail? - Doe or buck
7. Sharpen, as a knife - Item with teeth
Answers (including "link-letters"):
1. FORTHRIGHT
2. CAPACITY
3. BROKERAGE
4. GRANDMOTHER
5. DISHONEST
6. COMMANDEER
7. HONEYCOMB
The "linking" word is HARMONY.
