THREE RHYMING RIDDLES
1)
What has a tongue, but never talks,
Has no legs, but always walks?
2)
I washed my hands with water,
Which was neither rain nor run;
I dried them on a towel,
Which was neither woven nor spun.
3)
Of all my peers, if you had to choose,
I'm found the most in general use.
To every blessing I contribute,
To every happiness I conduce.
No delight exists without me,
I attend each beau and belle;
Also grace the shepherd's cottage,
And the hermit's lonely cell.
From the king I'm ever banished,
In his court I'm never seen;
But I serve with double duty
To wait upon the queen.
