NAME THAT COUNTRY

1. Can you think of a six-letter country that becomes a five-letter country when two consecutive letters are dropped and replaced by a single letter. The six-letter country is in South America, and the five-letter country is in Africa.

2. Think of the name of two African animals - the first one in plural - and say them in sequence to phonetically name a country.
