Frank A. Longo
The clues to this clever puzzle are in the form of rebuses, but they are different than traditional rebuses in a particular way. As the title suggests, look at the clues carefully. The answers are familiar phrases. If you're stumped, as I was, look at the hint below the clues.
1. CHALTUPID
2. VISSADAGE
3. JASOWB
4. SNILTIR
5. GAINBEAK
6. BEDORISING
7. SPORETAFF
HINT:

2. BLUE IN THE FACE
3. A PIG IN A POKE
4. MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
5. WIN BY A NOSE
6. A DAY IN THE LIFE (Doris Day)
