SEVEN RHYMING RIDDLES
1)
As soon as I'm made,
I'm sought with care ,
For one whole year consulted.
That time elapsed,
I'm thrown aside,
Neglected and insulted.
2)
Constantly moving - to and fro,
Sometimes high and sometimes low;
Obedient only to the moon and sun,
All wait on me, I wait on none.
3)
Often we are covered with wisdom and wit,
And oft with a cloth where dinner guests sit;
Countless in beauty over your head,
Though we are numbered when bound to be read.
4)
I have two arms, but no fingers or hands;
I have two legs, but use them only to stand;
I carry things for you, but you must carry me too,
Help me just a little bit, and I'll make your job easier to do.
5)
I have a hundred legs,
But I don't stand - just lean.
I get dirty
To help you clean.
6)
I'm tall and I'm twisted;
I'm narrow and fast;
I'm there for a moment,
But my devastation lasts.
7)
When plates chafe,
Go somewhere safe.
When you feel the shaking -
There's no mistaking.
