In this type of puzzle, a two-letter U.S. state abbreviation in a word is replaced by the abbreviation of a different state. The two-letter abbreviation may occur anywhere in the word. For example,
CANTER - WINTER
In the flat below, the abbreviations occur within the words.
An old man rocks upon the porch;
From a distance is seen a spark.
No cause for alarm, for all is well.
