INSIDE WORDS: THE KANGAROO GAME
A kangaroo word is one that has within its letters a synonym of itself, with the letters of the synonym in correct, but not consecutive, order. The hidden synonyms are referred to as "inside" words - or joeys - after the name of the baby kangaroo carried in its mother's pouch. Some examples of kangaroo words and their joeys:
CURTAIL - CUT
OBSERVE - SEE
CATACOMB - TOMB
INSTRUCTOR - TUTOR
EVACUATE - VACATE
Find the joeys in each of these kangaroo words. The words are listed according to their joeys' length.
