Drop one letter from each word in the left-hand column and add the remaining letters to the front or back of one of the words in the right-hand column to form a new word - without any re-arrangement of letters.
Example: If EEL were in the left-hand column and COLON in the right, you could drop either E from EEL and add the remaining EL to the back of COLON to get COLONEL.
