THREE RHYMING RIDDLES

1)
In simile I am often deaf.
Yet, in a second light,
I can make your morning bright.
A soldier my third meaning keeps,
Who stands his guard and never sleeps.

2)
Neither muscle, flesh, nor bone have I,
Yet my strength and power are undisputed.
No hands or arms, yet do I hold knowledge without end.
No tongue or eyes, yet I speak,
And the deaf hear and the blind see.
No wings, yet have I sped to earth's remotest places,
No feet, yet have I reached all men and races.
Though life is denied me, how far beyond measure
Do I touch the lives of others as a revered treasure.

3)
Though small I am, yet, when entire,
I often set a house on fire;
Take off one letter and it's clear,
I then could hold a herd of deer;
Dismiss one more, and you will know,
That once I held a strange cargo.
