JUVENILE
DIVIDING
VICINITY
EVENING
PROVIDING
VICIOUS
HINTS:
#1: Perry White, the editor of The Daily Planet and employer of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, was partial to a certain expression very close to the solution to this puzzle.
#2: The solution is a famous sentence familiar to high school Latin students.
Answer:
Each trio conceals the words VENI, VIDI, VICI - in that order - "I came, I saw, I conquered." This was Julius Caesar's boast after a military victory in Turkey.
NOTE: Perry White used to say, "Great Caesar's Ghost!"
