SHE SAID IT ALL

An international group of poets, including Allen Ginsberg, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and William Burroughs, recently recited in Italy before 10,000 youthful lovers of the written word. These eventually mobbed the stage, which collapsed; but not, according to the New York Times, before a young woman seized the microphone and expressed the general sentiments of the audience in these timeless words:

"I mean, you know, what I feel, I mean, why can't I say something, you know, my things, my feelings, I mean, my story, you know."
