FIVE RHYMING RIDDLES

1)
I know a word of letters three.
Add two more and fewer there will be.

2)
We're five little items of an every day sort,
You'll find us all in a tennis court.

They call me a man, but I'll never have a wife;
I was given a body, but not given life.
They made me a mouth, but gave me no breath,
Water gives me life, the sun brings me death.

I dwell in darkness, but not in light.
I'm present in day, but not in night.
In the deepest of shadows, I hide in plain sight.
At dawn and dusk, you'll find me aright.

5)
It's found before opera, box, and stone,
But these are not how it's widely known;
Its main use is between head and toes,
The more it works, the thinner it grows.
