THREE RHYMING RIDDLES

1)
One by one we come to life,
Side by side we wait;
Some of us come early,
Some of us come late.

Some of us may bore you,
Others may enthrall;
But you cannot choose between us,
You must take us one and all.

We're bound together tightly,
We're nothing if we break free;
Each one of us has a part to play,
Now tell us, what can we be?

2)
Like a sheltering tree,
Tended by you and nurtured by me;
Planted in fertile ground,
Our roots grow deeply bound.

Our wood has no worth,
Our fruit you cannot eat;
Yet above all things on Earth,
It is most precious and sweet.

3)
My step is slow, the snow's my breath,
I give the ground a grinding death;
My marching makes an end to me,
I'm slain by sun or drowned by sea.
