RHYME AND REASON II

The word pairs below may look a bit strange, but they should sound vaguely familiar. That's because each pair is a common expression in which each word has been replaced with a rhyme. For example, RACK & BITE are rhymes for BLACK & WHITE. Can you restore reason to the following rhymes?

1. MESH & SPUD
2. STYLE & TERROR
3. FLAT & HOUSE
4. PRIDE & BEAK
5. WITS & CEASES
6. SLIDE & LOOM
7. CAR & TIDE
8. CUP & FROWN
9. CROP & FLOW
10. CRIED & BOY

Answers:

1. FLESH & BLOOD
2. TRIAL & ERROR
3. CAT & MOUSE
4. HIDE & SEEK
5. BITS & PIECES
6. BRIDE & GROOM
7. FAR & WIDE
8. UP & DOWN
9. STOP & GO
10. PRIDE & JOY
