TWO RHYMING RIDDLES

1)
I'm a five-letter word, not too well-known,
Though very well-known is my homophone;
By myself I'm a number, one-twentieth of a whole,
But standing alone is not my main role.
Though I need not step back, I will acquiesce,
I more often follow IN, RE, AC, and ES.

2)
We come in darkness,
Though not always at night;
To some we bring joy,
To some we bring fright.

HINT:
1. I start with Q.

Answers:

1. QUIRE
(homophone of CHOIR - 25 sheets of paper - 1/20 of a ream
INQUIRE - REQUIRE - ACQUIRE - ESQUIRE)

2. Dreams
