FOOD FOR THOUGHT  II

For each of the following foods, provide a familiar proverb or saying (not just a phrase or expression) that contains the food name somewhere within it.

Example: Turnip:  You can't get blood out of a turnip.

Possible answers:

1. Man does not live by bread alone.
2. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
3. Don't cry over spilled milk.
4. One man's meat is another man's poison.
5. You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.
6. Too many cooks spoil the broth.
7. You can't make an omelet without breaking eggs.
8. What's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
9. Life is just a bowl of cherries.
10. The cream always rises to the top.
11. That's the way the cookie crumbles.
12. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
13. The proof of the pudding is in the eating.
14. Water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.
15. An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
