NPR Weekend Edition Sunday Puzzle
August 10, 2008
Will Shortz (adapted)

Each clue below contains two, unrelated five-letter words.  The two words can be anagrammed into a single, ten-letter word by using the letters of the first five-letter word as the first five letters of the ten-letter word, and the letters of the second five-letter word as the last five letters of the ten-letter word. For example, given the clue words LEGAL - RIOTS, the ten-letter word would be ALLEGORIST - the first five letters of ALLEGORIST consisting of  L,E,G,A,L and the second five letters consisting of R,I,O,T,S - both re-arranged.
