PERSONAL GLIMPSES VII

From Reader's Digest

Singer-actor Yves Montand recalls his friend, the legendary Edith Piaf:
"Unconsciously she always wanted to be in love. When she was falling in love with someone, she was happy and sang marvelously. But if there was a broken affair, she was sad. And then............she also sang marvelously."

From Reader's Digest - July, 1983

Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldrige is not someone to be fenced in behind a desk. Having competed in rodeos since he was a young man, the Secretary takes a break from shooting the bull in Washington by going out and roping a few. "It's a great change for me from the Washington party scene," Baldrige says. "Someone asked me once what the difference is between the rodeo circuit and the Washington circuit. I told him that cowboys don't talk unless they have something to say."
