   It's not till sex has died out between a man and a woman that they can really love. ......... When I look back on the pain of sex, the love like a wild fox so ready to bite, the antagonism that sits like a twin beside love, and contrast it with the affection, so deeply repeatable, of two people who have lived a life together . . . It's that I would have again.


Sophocles:
   I beg you, do not be unchangeable.
   Do not believe that you alone could be right.
   The man who thinks that,
   The man who maintains that only
 he has the power
   To reason correctly, the gift to
speak, the soul ---
   A man like that, when you know
him, turns out empty.
