THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN XXXIII

What's the difference between:

1. The RAF and the IRS?
2. An optimist and a pessimist?
3. A roofer and sixteen ounces of lead?
4. A sailor and two broken clocks?
5. A china shop and a furniture store?
6. A postage stamp and a woman

7. A gardener, a billiard player, a diplomat, and a church janitor?

8. A man who has eaten a full meal and one who has just made out his will?

Answers:

1. The RAF: Never have so few given so much for so many.
The IRS:  Never have so few taken so much from so many.

2. The same as the difference between an airplane and a parachute

3. The roofer pounds away and the lead weighs a pound.

4. The sailor goes to sea and the clocks cease to go.

5. One sells tea sets and the other settees.

6. One is a mail fee and the other a female.

7. The gardener minds his peas, the billiard player, his cues; the diplomat his p's and q's, and the church janitor his keys and pews.

8. Dined and sated - signed and dated
