POINTS TO PONDER XLIII
From Reader's Digest
Patricia Fry
An intimate relationship does not banish loneliness. Only when we are comfortable with who we are and can function independently in a healthy way, can we truly function within a relationship. Two halves do not make a whole when it comes to a healthy relationship: it takes two wholes.

Society seems to want to constrict childhood more and more. Perhaps it has to do with not wanting to be caregivers anymore because we're too busy or fearful. Society wants kids to grow up more quickly. It offers them rewards for being more adult-like in their behavior rather than child-like. Children need someone to re-assure them that play - their own, unique, imaginative play - is something to be valued. Children need to be valued for who they are, where they are, and not for something in the future.
