Each clue below has two parts. The answer to the second part is the same as the answer to the first part with the addition of two or three letters - according to a certain pattern. What are the two answers to each clue and what is the pattern that distinguishes them from each other? The first set of answers is limited to the first part of each clue. The second set gives the second answer (with the additional letters) and reveals the pattern.
