WITZ

The two answer words to this flat are anagrams. The second answer breaks the first one into two words.

First fall and then winter,
Then spring comes, then summer,
At times, life lies dormant;
We feel a bit glummer.

We humans don't MOTHER
Like so much of nature.
(I'll spare you the details
Of dry nomenclature.)

So when warmer air
And new blossoms pop out,
We THERMO with glee,
So our lungs fill out.

Answers:
