The Enigma
December, 2020
R/EDS
The first three letters of a seven-letter word form a palindrome. Fill in the first set of blanks with the last four letters of the word - thus beheading the palindrome. Restore the palindrome to enter the full word in the second set of blanks. (The three-letter palindrome is not a word.)
As I sat _ _ _ _ , without a care, I
watched the sun come forth.
The rosy-fingered dawn _ _ _ _ _ _ _ shone
mostly eat and north.
HINT:
The palindrome is VIV.
Answer:
As I sat IDLY, without a care, I
watched the sun come forth.
The rosy-fingered dawn VIVIDLY shown,
mostly east and north.
