1. Becky Sharp (1935) was the first feature-length movie to be shot entirely in three-strip Technicolor, and is considered a technological landmark in film history. Created by adding a blue film record to the red and green components of Technicolor's earlier two-color process, three-strip Technicolor proved a crucial step in the development of the color motion picture.*

2. Barbie Doll's full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts. Ken's full name is Kenneth Sean Carson. Both were named after the children of Barbie's creator, Ruth Handler. Barbie has a younger sister named Skipper.

3. Albert Parr was a professional landscaper and a fairly good golfer. With few challenging golf courses around his home in Nashville, Tennessee, in the 1920s, he started designing his own, and soon began laying out links full time. In a little ritual he developed to flatter his customers, Parr would take the owner on an inaugural round as soon as the course was finished. Club owners began posting the first score card - with their scores and Parr's - in the clubhouse. Subsequent golfers would take Parr's scores as the norm when playing their own games, and by the late 1930s, "par" (the second R was dropped) stood for the standard score for each hole on a course.
