INSERT-A-WORD XXXIV

[Note from JA: I found this puzzle to be far more difficult than any other "Insert-A-Word" puzzle I have posted before.]
By inserting a word from the right-hand column (a-t) into the correct word in the left-hand column (1-20), you can form a longer, new word. For example, if POT appeared in the left column and TEN in the right, TEN could be inserted into POT to make POTENT. Although at least one word can theoretically be used twice, each word is to be used exactly once for the complete solution.
