Change one letter in each word in the left-hand column to a new one. The result may or may not be a word. Put these letters to the front or back of word in the right-hand column to create a longer word. For example, if ISSUE were in the left-hand column, and NARC in the right-hand column, the E in ISSUE could be changed to S - leaving ISSUS. These letters could be added to the back of NARC to get NARCISSUS. The longer words will all be in the same category, and the changed letters, shown in ( ), reading down, will spell another word in that category.
