Change one letter in each word in the left-hand column to a new one. The result may or may not be a word. Put these letters at the front or back of a word in the right-hand column to make a longer word. For example: OPT in the left-hand column and RICH in the right-hand column. The P in OPT could be changed to S, giving OST. These letters could be added to RICH to get OSTRICH. PIN in the left-hand column and EON in the right-hand column. The N in PIN could be changed to G, leaving PIG. These letters could precede EON to get PIGEON. The longer words will all be in the same category (Birds in the examples above) and the changed letters, shown in ( ) and reading down, will spell another word in that category. As a starting hint, if needed, the category is shown below the answers.
