WORDPLAY
Merl Reagle

Match each clue in the left-hand column to one in the right-hand column. To do this, think of a definition for the word in the left-hand column. Then think of a heteronym or stressonym of that word that will match one of the words in the right-hand column. For example,

given GIFT in the left-hand column and INTRODUCE in the right-hand column:

One definition of gift is PRESENT (stress on the first syllable). To INTRODUCE is PRESENT (stress on the second syllable) [stressonym]. A heteronym is a single word with two different pronunciations (usually one syllable) [i.e. LIVE - short I and long I]

[Note from JA: This is a tricky, but very clever puzzle. Each answer is "legit" - fair and square.]
