Drop one letter from each word in the left-hand column and add the remaining letters to the front or back of one of the words in the right-hand column to form a longer word - without re-arranging any letters.
 
For example, if THIN were in the left-hand column and EVES in the right, you could drop the N in thin and attach THI to the front of EVES to get THIEVES.
