FOUR RHYMING RIDDLES
1)
Some try to hide, some try to cheat;
But time will show we will always meet.
Try as you might to guess my name,
I promise you will know me when I make my claim.
2)
Small as a sparrow, big as a whale;
Fast as an arrow, slow as a snail.
Unmoved by the breeze, wind, rain, or snow,
And yet it is true I may shrink, I may grow.
No body, no soul, no substance, no strength,
I have but one master, who determines my length.
3)
Two bodies have I, though joined in one;
My shape oft compared to the figures of some.
The longer I stand, the longer I run;
Keeping time is my purpose, 'til your job is done.
4)
Though liquid by nature,
Don't push me too far;
For then I will break,
And the damage may scar.
