Each clue below has two parts. Answer each part and determine a single "link-letter" that will join the two parts into a single word. For example, if the clue words were CHOOSE and LYRIC POEM, you would answer with ELECT and ODE. The "link-letter" (for you determine) would by R, creating the single word ELECTRODE. The "link-letters," read downward, will spell a seven-letter word.
1. Go into - Ascend
2. Place for signatures - Earns as profit
3. Whitney invention - Sandwich meat
4. On fire - Political gathering
5. Golf standard - Rushmore, for one
6. 70's club music - Bedouin's home
7. Large water ducts - 500 sheets of paper
Answers (including "link-letters):
1. ENTERPRISE
2. CASTANETS
3. GINGHAM
4. LITERALLY
5. PARAMOUNT
6. DISCONTENT
7. MAINSTREAM
