PARAPROSDOKIANS XIII

From Reader's Digest

As an optometrist, I had a second grader in for his first eye exam. He insisted his eyesight was fine, but when I asked him to read a line from my vision chart, with the letters APEOTF, he couldn't do it. I asked him to read the line with letters FZBDE, in larger print. Still he couldn't read the chart.
"You mean you can't read those letters and you still don't think you need glasses?" I asked him.
"No," he replied. "I can read the letters. I just haven't learned those words yet."
