HETERONYM RIDDLE
Heteronyms are single words that can be pronounced in two different ways. DOVE, for example, is a heteronym. Pronounced with a long O, it is the past tense of "dive". Pronounced with the short U sound, it is a bird (mourning dove). The best heteronyms are one syllable words, where there is no confusion over stress and/or syllabication - WIND, DOES, WOUND - for example. These interesting words are very rare in English.
Can you think of a four-letter, one-syllable heteronym that answers this clue?
